What dreams are made of

Wow this assignment seriously made me sit down and think about my life and where it is hopefully heading. These are the goals that I came up with, which I would like to accomplish in the next five years.

1. Move out on my own. Preferably to new york.
2. Get a well paid advertising job in the city, for a big company.
3. Get married to someone I love and who loves me. Only if I am happy with them.
4. Buy my parents something expensive.

Now here comes the truth. It is what I am doing to achieve these things. Well moving out and buying something for my parents both have to deal with money. Money would come from my dream job, which is also one of my goals. To get the job I am going to college. I am majoring in marketing. To be quite honest I have been putting off getting a marketing internship, and joining marketing clubs, but after I saw this video, (no matter how corny it was), i decided to take action. I am going to talk to my Marketing professor about doing an internship this week, and I am going to join a marketing club. Getting married is something I would like to do in the next 5 years, but if I will not be in a happy relationship, I will not get married just because it is my goal. I don't really see what I could be doing in the present to be happily married later on, but I do have a boyfriend whom i love very much. I am finding out a lot about myself by being with him, and maybe that's that counts. I know I am determined enough to get the life I want. I just hope when I get there, I will still want it.

Oh the yelling and name calling...!

The group excercise that we did revising our class syllabus was a great demostration of types of conflict that come up during planning. One major problem was agreeing. Another, communication. And I could probably think of five or 8 more. Our class demostrated all the problems that go hand in hand with handling conflict. Some people did not really participate, and others really wanted to get their own way. They firmly said, you will never get me to vote for this, and that was the end of that. They were set on getting their own way, and did not care if others had to suffer. Some people compromised. An example of that is when the debate was going on about how many extra credit points one we can get and we started with 25, and had some people that did not want anyone to get any extra credit points at all. So we conpromised on 7. The accomodated to other's needs because they saw that although maybe they did not need the curve...others did. And finally, we all collaborated on making the rules on that board, and getting everyone to agree on one proposal that was thankfully accepted! We could have have a little less screaming, and a little more organization. But at the end of the day, we got it done!

Our Group's Planning Process!

The "EGG" activity we did in class was very fun and very interactive. We have a very organized group, or so I think. We defined our objectives. We talked about how much time we have left, and what we should get done before the timer goes off. We knew we would need a paper and pen to draw the design of the egg holder. We also went through step 2. We knew what resources we can use to construct the egg holder. We also asked the professor a few times if we can cut the tape in half in order to make our string longer. Going through step 3, we talked about the possibility of the string ripping and the egg falling down and possibly crashing. We actually had a few designs planned out and we had to choose one, in step three. We decided who will construct it, and who will go up to the head of the class and drop the egg. We chose me because I am short and the egg would have a less of a falling distance. In step five we finally have dropped the egg, and it did not crack! We were very excited to succeed, and we are very glad that we work together so well. We were also very happy to get the five points!

This entry is a little late, therefore reflecting my poor management abilities in my life. And proving my previous post.
:)

I promise to work on that.
